Angels

While taking pictures of a young girl I became fascinated by photographs
where one does not get distracted by the subjects’ face. Putting each child
in a specific monochrome background I create a psychological space
around them. At the same time this permits me to concentrate entirely on the
body – an ephemeral body, in a moment of fast development from baby
into boy or girl. A future beyond the time of the photograph, beyond our
reach, a time that the child already seems to be looking forward to.
